Project
In groups of 4 or 5, students are to research their natural disaster which have been allocated. Together as a group, each student is to answer the questions to complete this project (questions are below). Students are to use the links provided in the page 'Helpful Links' under the appropriate heading as well as other helpful websites found whilst searching the internet.
Each student is to complete a question each (if there are more students questions are to be shared) ensuring you answer the question with as much detail as possible. You will have a couple of lessons to complete this so please do not rush your research.
Once the research has been completed, all groups are required to design a virtual poster each using Glogster. Again, you will have a couple of lessons to complete this.
Your poster should:
-
Have completed questions from each member of the group presented
-
Include pictures/images. If any appropriate videos were found they can be placed onto your virtual poster
-
Overall, your poster needs to look eye catching- colourful, not just in black and white.
When all groups have completed their poster ensuring all requirement are visible, each group will present their virtual poster to their classroom peers on the electronic whiteboard.
Each student in the group will need to present their part they have researched, making sure not only one person is doing all of the speaking. This is a group assignment and all need to participate in the presentation.
Presentation tips:
-
Speak clearly- face the audience (palm cards can be made)
-
Talk at a moderate pace- do not rush through your part. Your classroom peers need to understand what you are saying.
-
Stand on the side of the electronic whiteboard- the audience needs to be able to see your poster.
This is a group assignment, have fun and experiment with your members using Glogster!!
*As a group it is important that your blogs are completed before you present your virtual poster*
